Created by Microgaming, Premier Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack comes with three extra side bet options and a unique change table feature, enabling the player to move from one variant to another, changing the table layout, number of hands and the style of the game.
After the hands are dealt, the player is presented with several possibilities. The two main options are to Hit or Stand. Additional moves, however, will depend on the player's hand. If, for example, the players have the same denomination cards, they will be able to split them into different hands. Totals of 9, 10 and 11 can be followed by doubling move, meaning that an additional bet is placed and one extra card is dealt to the player. The players can also insure a part of their bets when the upcard is an Ace – opting for insurance will pay 2 to 1 of the original bet if the dealer gets a Blackjack hand. Premier Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack offers the possibility of three bonus bets, where the player is wagering on their next hand being lower, higher or equal to the total of 13.
In addition to the standard set of options, Microgaming incorporated a unique “change table” feature, enabling the players to change the layout and go from single to multi-hand game or simply opt for a blackjack variant without any extra bets.
Side Hi, Lo and 13 bets come with the different payout odds. The regular payment ratio in this Microgaming release does not deviate from 1:1/2:1/3:2 ratio for standard, insurance and blackjack hand. Hi and Lo side bets also pay 1:1, while the bet placed on 13 field is paid 10 to 1. Minimum amount on main and side bet is $1, and the maximum bet is $1,000 on the main bet area and $25 on each of the side bets areas, making the bet limit $1,075. RTP is 99.52%
Players with a modest blackjack experience will have the option of turning on the strategy tips, using the option button. This way, the most commonly used strategy will be displayed on the screen, before the players make their move. The strategy tips can be turned off and the players can test their own blackjack skills and the usual tactics, such as hitting on soft hands, standing on higher totals and splitting eights and Aces.
Microgaming has definitely raised the bar when blackjack releases are concerned. Great graphics, helpful and clearly displayed additional settings and optional strategy tips will definitely target the players who are only getting acquainted with blackjack. More experienced players will on the other hand enjoy the sharp visuals and the added value of “change table” feature, switching from one gameplay to another.
