What is Eclipse Blackjack Live?

Eclipse Blackjack, developed and published by OnAir Entertainment, is an innovative live casino blackjack game. It introduces a unique concept where multiple players can participate simultaneously, sharing the same set of cards. This inclusive gameplay experience is available for an unlimited number of players. However, you still retain your personal decisions by standing or hitting for the current hand at your desired moments.

Eclipse Blackjack boasts an impressive return-to-player (RTP) rate of 99.44%. The game accommodates a wide range of players with varying budgets, as the minimum bet starts at $1, while high rollers can wager up to $1,500 per hand. Players can access it on desktop and mobile devices. Besides its distinctive one-to-many structure, this game also offers an extensive array of side bets, some of which feature original options.

How Does It Work?

To start with the basics, dealers must draw to 16 but stand on all 17s, including soft 17. You can double, split, but not double after a split. You may split once, which is why this table has a lower RTP value of 99.44% than some competing games.

Further, you play one hand. In most traditional blackjack tables, there is a standard setup consisting of 7 seats accommodating 7 players. You choose a seat, play your hand, and receive your winnings accordingly.

That said, in Eclipse Blackjack only one hand is shared among an unlimited number of players. This means that whatever cards one player receives, everyone at the table receives. Nonetheless, each player is still responsible for their own decisions. For instance, if you choose to stand, any cards dealt after that won’t affect your hand.

Although this format might not be favorable for card counters and may lack the authenticity of a real-life casino experience, it does offer a couple of advantages:

  • You no longer need to worry about finding an available seat as everyone can participate
  • Minimum wagers tend to be lower since the table can accommodate numerous players simultaneously

As we mentioned, there are also side bets.

Eclipse Blackjack Side Bets

OnAir Entertainment has introduced various side bets in this release which are the main attraction of the game. Some are classics and some are new editions. Let us review them all:

  • 21+3 and Perfect Pairs – These two usually come as a couple in most online blackjack games. The 21+3 side bet has you competing to achieve a three-card poker combination consisting of your opening 2 cards and the dealer’s upcard. Perfect Pairs works as usual where your first two cards have to form a pair of colors, suits, or both.
  • Lucky Lucky – Offers payouts if your two opening cards and the dealer’s upcard form specific combinations. One example is the 7s payout where all three cards have to be 7s. Another is where your three cards have to form 6-7-8 or a sum of 19 or 20, etc.
  • Buster Blackjack – Wins if the dealer busts.
  • Royal Jacks – Allows you to predict whether your two initial cards or the dealer’s upcard will have a Jack.

The side bets can help you score immense amounts if you are lucky. For example, 21+3 payouts can get you up to a 100:1 payout for  Suited Three of a Kind. Perfect Pairs can get you a 25:1 for a Perfect two-card Pair. Lucky Lucky pays 200:1 for three suited 7s or 50:1 for unsuited ones. Buster Blackjack can pay from 2:1 to 2000:1 depending on how many cards the dealer busts with. Lastly, Royal Jacks has various payouts up to 600:1 based on how many jacks land and whether they are suited, mixed or feature diamonds.

Final Remarks

While Eclipse Blackjack by OnAir Entertainment does not bring anything strictly new, it is still a well-designed live blackjack game. There are plenty of seats for players across the world and numerous side-betting options to engage in. Be careful with over-engaging in side betting as the RTP values are drastically lower than playing blackjack regularly. The highest RTP is for the 21+3 side bet with 96.30% while the worst odds are for Royal Jacks with 89.88%. All in all, this is a fun live blackjack experience that does not innovate on anything but provides more of the old. If its peers from Playtech or Evolution do not suit you for some reason this is a perfectly viable alternative.
